Stanford University has started a new move in e-learning. It all started with Norvig’s and Thrun’s AI class (ai-class.org). With this site, AI-student candidates can sign-up for this class like in real world and then start watching videos, giving quizes/exams and doing programming exercies (scored completely by system).

And Machine Learning class (ml-class.org) and Database Class (db-class.org) followed this trend.

Now, Stanford is offering for below new classes starting by January from their sites, which are;

CS 101
Software as a Service
Human-Computer Interaction
Natural Language Processing
Game Theory
Probabilistic Graphical Models
Cryptography
Design and Analysis of Algorithms I

Technology Entrepreneurship
Lean Launchpad

Do you think this trend will be permanent and make an impact on e-learning or be just another good-but-unsufficient move?

RIP Dennis Ritchie

Dennis Ritchie -creator of C and Co-authour of UNIX- has passed away. He is the Tesla of the computer industry since his contributions to foundations of operating systems and programming languages. Modern operating systems like GNU/Linux etc… and modern programming languages like C++, Java, C#, Python etc… that makes modern computing age possible, owes him a lot.

So, thank you Dennis Ritchie, rest in peace. We’ll always be grateful to you.
